WHAT OUR CLIENTS ARE SAYING

“Melinda is kind, imaginative and pushed me to a vision I never could have imagine for my brand! This is the missing piece your business needs!”

Nice to meet you. I’m Melinda.

A mother who felt burnt out and broken after not seeing her journey in motherhood reflected in motherhood magazines turned her experience into movement to bring disability inclusion mainstream in motherhood. Now she is leading brands, authors and creatives to set industry standards that change social trajectory of disability worldwide!

STATS WE ARE WORKING TO CHANGE

  • Representation should reflect lived experiences of our population. Our goal is to elevate representation to 15% across parent and childhood content. This is so important because often what is not visible is not known. If disabled lives are not known it further creates isolation and gaps in being considered in society, school, employment etc.

  • Moms navigating disability personally or that of their child are 2.2x more likely to experience anxiety in motherhood and 4.4x more likely to experience depression. Understanding symbolic annihilation, the idea that if you don’t see people like you in th emedia you consume, you mut somehow be unimortant. This lack of representation can lead to decrease in self-esteem and increased feelings of isolation. Representation is a powerful tool that not only empowers inclusion but betters the mental health of the disability community and their families.

  • More than social visibility, there are many policies that are creating barriers to accessibility and equity for people with disabilities. We will work to be a presence to align these barriers with improved action plans by collaborating with organizations and advocates seeking positive change.

  • The stigma and bias of disability runs through decades of can only be reversed by sharing disability in news empowered ways by consistently representing full lives and personal expressions of people with disabilities. Through this visibility we bring new lens to how disabled is thought of.
